Mumbai [India], October 12: The makers of Ramayana: Part One, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, have officially confirmed that the much-awaited mythological epic will release in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026. The announcement has ended the recent uncertainty surrounding the film’s release date, with advance bookings set to open on Dussehra, October 20.

The release announcement was made on October 11 alongside a new poster featuring the film’s leading cast. The makers described the project as the beginning of a new era with the message, “Yeh Ram Ke Yug Ka Aarambh Hai,” signalling the start of the film’s major promotional campaign.

Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash Lead the Cast

Ramayana: Part One features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The film is being developed as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the project aims to bring the Ramayana to the big screen on a large international scale. The film is expected to release across premium theatrical formats, including IMAX, giving audiences the opportunity to experience the epic on large-format screens.

Advance Bookings to Open on Dussehra

The makers have announced that advance ticket bookings will begin on October 20, 2026, coinciding with Dussehra. The timing connects the film’s promotional campaign with an important occasion associated with the Ramayana tradition.

The announcement follows confusion over the film’s release schedule. An earlier international trailer had indicated November 6 as the worldwide release date, while reports had discussed a possible November 5 opening in India. The latest announcement confirms November 5 as the worldwide theatrical release date.

Paid previews are also expected to take place on November 4, ahead of the film’s official opening, although screening arrangements may vary by market.

Ramayana: Part Two Planned for Diwali 2027

The film is planned as the first instalment of a two-part saga, with Ramayana: Part Two scheduled for a theatrical release during Diwali 2027. The project is being mounted by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

With its confirmed release date and advance booking announcement, Ramayana: Part One is moving into a crucial phase ahead of its theatrical debut. The film’s performance will be closely watched as one of the major Indian cinematic releases of 2026.
