Mumbai [India], October 28: Marathi cinema is gearing up for the release of Janak, an upcoming courtroom drama starring Sayali Sanjeev and Avinash Narkar. Directed by Abhishek Kanwar, the film explores the emotional bond between a father and daughter through a story of public humiliation, the search for truth and a fight for justice.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres across Maharashtra on November 13, 2026.
Sayali Sanjeev Takes on a Challenging Role
Sayali Sanjeev plays Siya, a determined criminal lawyer whose life takes a difficult turn when a misleading viral video brings humiliation upon her father. After the incident leads to his death, Siya decides to fight for his dignity and uncover the truth through the legal system.
The story places her in a demanding situation as she continues her fight while heavily pregnant. Her character faces both personal and professional challenges, adding an emotional dimension to the courtroom conflict.

The film is directed by Abhishek Kanwar, while Omkar Bhasme has handled the story, screenplay and dialogues. RTB Films presents the project, with Trilok Singh Rajput serving as associate producer and Sujit Mukate as executive producer. The music is composed by Aditya Kadtane.
