Mumbai [India], October 9: Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming period drama Ranabaali is facing an early challenge at the US box office, with its premiere advance bookings remaining significantly below the final pre-sales recorded by his previous release, Kingdom. With eight days left before the premiere, the film has recorded $13,125 in US advance sales, according to the latest available figures.
The film has sold 743 tickets across 150 locations and 269 shows in the United States. The current numbers represent only around 2.7% of the final US premiere pre-sales achieved by Kingdom, indicating that the upcoming release will need a substantial increase in bookings over the remaining days.
Ranabaali vs Kingdom: Advance Booking Comparison
Vijay Deverakonda’s previous film Kingdom finished its US premiere advance sales with approximately $480,190 in gross collections. It sold around 25,700 tickets across nearly 264 locations and 891 shows.
By comparison, Ranabaali has started its advance booking campaign on a much smaller scale. The film is currently averaging approximately 2.8 tickets per show, while Kingdom had reached around 29 tickets per show in its final advance-booking figures.
To match Kingdom’s final US pre-sales, Ranabaali would need to increase its current advance collections by roughly 37 times. However, the comparison is based on the current booking position against the previous film’s final figures, and the remaining days could bring changes as more shows and locations become available.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna Reunite
Ranabaali features Vijay Deverakonda alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The two actors are reuniting on screen after previously appearing together in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is a period drama set against the backdrop of 19th-century southern India under British rule. Vijay plays the titular character, while Rashmika portrays Jayamma.
The film also features music by Ajay–Atul, adding to the anticipation surrounding its theatrical release.
Dussehra Release Could Help Advance Sales
Ranabaali is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026, during the Dussehra festive window. The holiday period could provide an opportunity for the film to attract audiences, particularly if the promotional campaign generates stronger interest in the final week.
Competition from other major releases around the same period could also influence audience choices and advance booking trends. The film’s performance in the US market will depend on how quickly ticket sales improve, whether additional screenings become available and how audiences respond to its promotional material.
For now, Ranabaali has eight days to build momentum before its US premieres. Its current pre-sales are modest compared with Kingdom’s final numbers, but the final booking trend will provide a clearer picture of audience interest ahead of release.
